Tips for Flu Prevention
Consider an extra day of rest and observation:
- congestion or runny nose
- cough
- mild sore throat
- headache
- mild stomach ache
Do not send your child to school and seek treatment:
- fever over 100 degrees
- vomiting
- diarrhea
- chills
- fatigue, discomfort, weakness, achiness
- croupy cough
- extreme congestion or frequent nose blowing
Unlike a cold, symptoms of the flu start suddenly and appear 1-4 days after exposure.  Keeping a sick child at home will minimize the spread of infections and viruses in the classroom.  Thank you for helping make our school a healthy place!  If you have any questions, please contact the school nurse by calling 607-638-5831 or email
