Minutes for Special  Meeting of the Board of Education Meeting

Thursday, December 29, 2022      6:00p.m.

Board President, Tom Snyder called the Board of Education meeting to order at 6:01 p.m.

Members present:  Tom Snyder, Tim Walke,

                                         Cory Spooner, Serenity Beardslee

Members absent: Liz Reed

Also present: Jody Carney, District Clerk           Theresea Mellor, SCSD Secretary

                             Tim Green, Community Member   Ed Shultis Community Member

                             Barb Green, Community Member           

Tim Walke made a motion at 6:03 p.m. to move to executive session, to discuss final contract details of Interim Superintendent, 2nd: Cory Spooner;  vote: 4-0 . Mr. Ed Shultis was invited into executive session.           

Personnel Items:

On the recommendation of the superintendent, RESOLVED that the Board of Education approve the following: 

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education hereby appoints and employs Edmund G. Shultis as Interim-Superintendent of Schools, on a per diem basis, commencing January 1, 2023, and terminating no later than January 31, 2023, unless further extended or terminated earlier, and approves the Agreement dated December 29, 2022 setting forth the terms and conditions of such appointment and employment, authorizing the Board President to execute same. 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Education hereby appoints the Interim­Superintendent of Schools to the following titles for the duration of his role as Interim­Superintendent of Schools for the purposes of performing those duties attendant to such titles: Deputy Board Clerk; Purchasing Agent; Data Privacy Officer; Payroll Certification Officer; CSE/CPSE/504 Chairperson.

MOTION:  Tim Walke; 2nd: Serenity Beardslee; vote 4-0

Serenity Beardslee made a motion  to return to regular session at 6:23 p.m. 2nd by Cory Spooner, vote 4-0.

Oath was administered to Mr. Ed Shultis

Having no further business before the Board,  Tim Walke  made a motion to adjourn at 6:46 p.m.

 Second by Cory Spooner. Vote 4-0.
