Meet our new K-12 Guidance Counselor

Schenevus Central School District is happy to welcome Taylor Diffley as our new K-12 guidance counselor. We asked Ms. Diffley to introduce herself, and this is what she said:

My name is Taylor Diffley and I am the K-12 school counselor at Schenevus. Before coming to Schenevus, I was a graduate assistant at St. Lawrence University, where I received a Master of Education in School Counseling while also working as the assistant men’s and women’s tennis coach. During my time at St. Lawrence, I also worked with all student-athletes through an initiative called S.H.I.E.L.D: Supporting Healthy Initiatives Encompassing Lifelong Development. This initiative enabled me to give support to students through educational/awareness forums, identifying resources/coping strategies, and open discussions surrounding mental health, wellness, and stigma.

I strongly value both a person-centered and humanistic approach when working with students as this allows me to empower each student to reach his/her highest potential through a collaborative effort. My schooling, coaching, and life experiences have given me invaluable insight on how to help those I work with become the best version of themselves, and I cannot wait to work with every student during their journey at Schenevus to help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I am thrilled to be here, and I look forward to meeting and working with all students and families at Schenevus.
