Drone Discovery Day
Drone discovery day was a huge success with over 45 students and 23 parents representing Schenevus, Worcester, Oneonta, Morris, Cooperstown, Stamford, and Glenmont NY. Students participated in Unmanned Ariel Systems (UAS) activities and learned “first hand” from FAA certified drone pilots John Gustafson, Bob & Lisa Payne, Doug Reilly, and Don Zaengle. Students learned how Earth Science, Chemistry and Physics fundamentals are important in UAS (drone) systems and flight. Schenevus Central
UAS students worked side-by-side with SUNY Oneonta science majors instructing participants on flying drones in the gymnasium.

Cornell Cooperative Extension 4-H director Patti Zellmer, Susan Hoskins and Bill Shue in cooperation with Schenevus Central School Superintendent Theresa Carlin and Board member Dr. Jay Deitchman helped make this event possible.

Our thanks to all who made this day a success!

Stay tuned for “Adult Drone Day” Fall 2019.
