Sweethearts & Heroes are here conducting circle training with our students in Grades 5-12. Sweethearts & Heroes Circles are built upon the ancient tradition of communities coming together to share, tell stories, and most importantly, listen. Storytelling unconditionally invites us into a shared experience where listeners and speakers form connections and identify commonalities while practicing the 5 Core Human Skills of social and emotional learning and building empathy and compassion through small shared moments of honesty and vulnerability. This is especially important when we are focused on helping students and educators acquire strategies for talking about and dealing with difficult life situations, including destructive decisions that have been distinctly on the rise in humans today.

Today we had our second required lockdown drill. The students did an excellent job following procedures and expectations. The whole drill took less than 15 minutes. We appreciate the staff and students quick and effective responses to the drill.
